Stunning Cyprus Beaches – Chill out Because you Deserve It
There is an astounding array of 53 blue flag beaches in Cyprus. According to the Blue Flag Organisation, 6 can be found in the Larnaca district and 21 of them in the Famagusta district i.e. South East Cyprus. That’s a lot of quality beaches! Personally, I recommend heading for the South East of the Island as the most stunning and unspoilt beaches can be found here.
Anywhere is gorgeous around here, but one area that is very well loved with young families and couples is Protaras. Protaras is a major resort in the Famagusta district and boasts to have the best sandy beaches. They’re well known for their white-gold sand, secluded sea coves and crystal clear azure waters.
Enticing Cyprus Tourist Attractions – Brink Back Pleasant Memories
Where do you start? There’s a multitude of things to delve into and encounter in Cyprus and these are just a taster of some of them.
One of the fantastic Cyprus tourist attractions would be Water World Waterpark in Ayia Napa. Try out the Poseidon’s Wave Pool, Kamikaze rides and the Trojan Adventure. An interactive play centre for kids.
If you’re searching for some silent time after the adventure of the Cyprus water park, go to Ancient Salamis, in the Famagusta region. This is one of Cyprus’s key archaeological sites. Check out the baths, gymnasium and amphitheatre where the earliest archeological finds go back to the eleventh century BCE (Late Bronze Age III). Wow!
Learn the ghost town of Cyprus…Where local inhabitants were forced to abandon their homes in what was once the most well loved tourist resort in Cyprus, if not the Mediterranean. Entry to this abandoned town is still illegal today, hence the reason why it is known as the ‘ghost town’ of Famagusta. This incredible place will send a chill down your spine.
As one journalist place it, “The asphalt on the roads has cracked in the warm sun and along the sidewalks bushes are growing. Today, September 1977, the breakfast tables are still set, the laundry still hanging and the lamps still burning. Famagusta is a ghost town”
Mouth Watering Cypriot Food – Satisfy an Appetite
The cuisine is so fresh and local, you’ll reckon you’ve died and gone to culinary heaven! It is everywhere you turn, and the quality of the restaurants and tavernas is incredible. Once you find that perfect restaurant in Cyprus, you then have to pick something to eat off a Cypriot menu. But everything sounds incredible!
Protaras has dozens of restaurants and quick food outlets, many of these local establishments run by British ex-pats. Visitors who delight in making the most of the local produce should opt for one of the many open-air seafood restaurants. Protaras restaurants are honestly diverse with Thai, Italian, British, Indian and American cuisine on offer, alongside traditional Cypriot Meze (a veritable feast of local tapas dishes including vegetables, meat and fish) and fresh seafood. Most eateries have outdoor terraces for al fresco dining, some of which overlook the Mediterranean.
There is plenty of excitement and places to learn on a Cyprus holiday and that’s the reason why Cyprus holiday apartments prove to be a well loved choice. Numerous families and couples choose self catering apartments in Cyprus and come back to this fabulous Island again and again.
